Why Higuera Hardwoods Technical Information

Bamboo Comparisons

Point A-(look under letter-A) during the lamination process you must ensure that the manufactures are using only a high quality raw material which have been processed properly into the laminating strips. notice on the top photo there is gapping, cracking and even splitting, this is a direct result of poor raw material, poor laminating machinery and lack of proper glue insertion. Note on the bottom sample (Higuera Hardwoods) that there is no gapping, cracking or splitting and even after extensive laminating pressures the material is straight and is not deformed. This tells the consumers that it is a high grade of raw material to as it can withstand the high laminating pressures which are used, this will be a very durable floor you will enjoy for years.

Point B-(look under letter-B) on the bottom sample lower surface of the flooring (higuera hardwoods) there are always two anti-cupping notches, these notches are milled into the flooring as a feature to ensure stability (no cupping, no warping etc) of the product under different environments and it also assists in the glue down installations to give a better adhesion point for the glues if used. Note on the upper samples how there is no or little clear definition in the anti cupping milling, as well as the inconstancies in the flat underside of the boards. this type of poor milling and raw material will have a great potential for problems in the future. Please note when you look at Higuera Hardwoods example you will see well defined anti cupping milling and the precision underside of the board.

Point C-(look Above-C) Please note the rolling wave look for the board on the top (leading brand), this is definite sign of what poor quality is on the market for bamboo. This board does not have straight line on it and it would make for a very inconsistent floor and a frustrating installation as nothing would fit properly as it installed. Now look at Higuera Hardwoods lower sample at top edge to see how proper Grade A should look for being Straight.

Point D-(look right-D) notice the lack of milling precision on the tongue of the board on the top sample (leading brand), the edge is rounded and has very little definition. Note on the Higuera Hardwoods sample below the fine milling with straight edges and well defined reliefs on the lower edge. This is the difference between an easy high quality installation and possible higher installation costs and inferior project results.

Point E-(look at-E) Please notice also the lack of consistency on the lamination lines, On the leading brands samples they are often angles etc, and on the Higuera Hardwoods sample below every lamination is straight and consistent.
