Engineered Bamboo flooring-Brief introduction
Higuera Hardwoods Grade-A Engineered bamboo flooring planks are machined with tongue and groove edges to provide interlocking assembly. Each plank is precision machine sanded on top for a superior finish and with a rough glue-ready surface on bottom. The edge above the tongue on the long edge is mitered and ready to accept standard flooring nails, float installation and/or glue down.
Each pre-finished bamboo flooring board is coated with clear; UV cured acrylic polyurethane/aluminum oxide on the topside and sealer coat on the underside. We also use the most abrasion-resistant aluminum-oxide finish, which surpasses the American ASTM4060 standard. Only the finest machinery is used to apply and cure our durable coating.
All our engineered bamboo flooring is tongue and groove plank in 74 inch lengths, by 5 inches wide and 5/8 inch thick, factory pre-finished with 7 coats of 100% solids UV cured Acrylic Urethane with aluminum oxide. We have ensured the removal of all toxic chemicals from our manufacturing processes. Adopting high quality European glue, all emissions meet the E1 standard and are not harmful to the human body.

ABRASION RESISTANCE
Bamboo flooring tested according to ASTM C501 (H-22 Calibrated wheels loaded with 1000 gram weight at 70 RPM for 1000 cycles) weight loss = .349 grams =.012 ounces. The test we have done for abrasion resistance showed that this flooring finish is one of the toughest in the wood flooring industry.

FLAMMABILITY
Bamboo flooring tested according to ASTM E648 Critical Radiant Panel Test. Passes with a CLASS I rating per NFPA "Life Safety Code". (This flooring can be used in all classes of buildings.)

SMOKE DENSITY
Bamboo flooring tested according to ASTM E622 pass = 450 or less, passes with 269 flaming mode and 329 non-flaming mode.

CHEMICAL AND STAIN RESISTANCE
Bamboo flooring tested with the following chemical reagents finish was unaffected:
Acetic Acid (5%) Acetone Ammonium Hydroxide (10%) Toluene
Detergent Solution Ethyl Alcohol (50%) Hydrochloric Acid
(10%) Turpentine Heavy Duty (.025%) Hydrogen Peroxide (3%) Soap Solution (1%) Sodium
Hydroxide (1%)

INDENTATION RESISTANCE:
Bamboo flooring according to ASTM 1037 (Janka Ball Hardness) showed an average hardness of 1530. (27% harder than northern red oak and 14% harder than hard maple)

DIMENSIONAL STABILITY:
Bamboo flooring according to standard method for wood flooring showed a dimensional change coefficient of .00144. (50% more stable than red oak)

SLIP RESISTANCE:
Bamboo flooring according to ASTM D2047 = results 0.71 coefficient of friction. Static co-efficient of 590 exceeds the OSHA recommendation for level surfaces in the workplace.

COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH:
Bamboo flooring according to ASTM D3501-86 A = results A) Parallel to Grain= 7,549 PSI B) Perpendicular to Grain =2,566 PSI C) Flat wise = 16,925 PSI at 50% Strain. (Load to compress to 1/2 thickness)

BENDING STRENGTH
Bamboo flooring tested according to ASTM D3043-87 result = 13,608 PSI

BENDING ELASTICITY MODULUS
943,443 PSI

SHEAR STRENGTH
Bamboo flooring tested according to BRITISH STANDARD # 373 result = Parallel to Grain 1365 PSI
