HOW DO I CARE FOR MY FLOORING?

WHAT KIND OF FINISH DOES IT HAVE?
Our bamboo flooring product is finished in "matte" with seven coats of 100% aluminum oxide which makes it abrasion and spill resistant. We guarantee our finish with a "twenty (20) year Warranty".
SHOULD I USE WAX ON MY BAMBOO?
Wax which is used on floor finishes that actually contain wax should never be used, our product is designed to be "maintenance free".
WHAT ABOUT SPILLS & HEAVY TRAFFIC?
The tests that we have done, for both abrasion resistance and chemical/stain resistance shows that the finish is one of the toughest to be found in the wood flooring industry. Multiple chemical solutions were applied to the finish with no or little effect, while abrasion tests show minimal finish loss.
RADIANT HEATED FLOORS:
Our flooring is completely compatible over Radiant Heated floors as long as the temperature cannot exceed 85°F;or as long as the radiant heat system can not fluctuate in temperature rapidly
CAN BAMBOO FLOORING BE SANDED?
Yes, our bamboo flooring product sands quite easily and due to its 1/4" thick top layer .our flooring could probably be sanded and refinished up to 3 times depending on the depth of damage due to its solid bamboo construction (no fillers, engineered).
WILL IT WARP or CUP?
No. Our bamboo flooring product, even when installed on radiant heated concrete sub floor, will not buckle, cup or warp when properly applied and maintained in accordance with our manufactures installation instructions.
CAN IT BE GLUED DOWN OR NAILED DOWN?
Our bamboo flooring product can be glued , floated or nailed.
WHAT IS THE MOISTURE CONTENT?
Our manufacturer's bamboo flooring is steamed or kiln dried to a proper level, the flooring's interior moisture content is maintained at 7% to 10% during the manufacturing.
DO YOU NEED TO ALLOW FOR EXPANSION?
Our bamboo flooring product is very stable with regard to expansion or contraction from moisture gain or loss; (we have a change coefficient of .00144 lower than almost any wood). However good practice dictates that an expansion gap of at least ¼ inches be allowed, especially in larger rooms.
DO WE HAVE REDUCERS OR OTHER MOLDING?
Yes, in the matte finish, in the natural as well as the dark carbonized colors. We try to maintain a large selection in our warehouse to able to ship quickly to your projects
CAN IT BE INSTALLED BELOW GRADE?
Our bamboo flooring product can be installed on, above, or below grade, and only requiring sensible precautions. Moisture can be a problem below grade even when no moisture exists at the time of installation, so a vapor barrier, or sleeper system, or both should be used for nail down, and a two part urethane adhesive should be used for glue down or floating installations.
WHAT COLORS ARE AVAILABLE?
Natural color, " blond", and carbonized color, "Caramel". Carbonized is a cooking and burning process, it creates a natural darker color, it is not a stain. We also do custom carbonized colors if needed.
