Why Higuera Hardwoods Technical Information

Manufacturing Moisture Control

As with all hardwood products, moisture content is of primary importance to avoiding common problems such as warping or cupping after installation. Higuera Hardwoods strives for our products to arrive at the job site within a desired moisture content of approximately 6 to 9 percent, sometimes this will vary with ambient humidity of the geographical location the material is shipped to. Higuera Hardwoods moisture-control measures in the in the actual manufacturing process are industry standard setting, we insists that our slats are properly kiln-dried before lamination and stored properly in a humidity-controlled warehouse while waiting for the lamination process to take place. Most other factories leave there strip in rooms open to the outside or even outside, the consequences are what you see on the market from many other companies.

The final acclimation process must be taken after the product is delivered to the job site. Always allow the flooring to acclimate in the room where it will be installed before installation to ensure performance. (See installation guidelines for more details)
